Two Spirits – One Sacred Journey
Do you feel different? Do you ever have a sense that your life is somehow a sacred journey and wonder if others feel that way? Come join us at 9 am to hear MCCGD members describe their sacred paths and explore aspects of your own. This is an 8 part series that begins Sunday October 2nd.
We will begin the series by watching the video Two Spirit People where Native American lesbian poet Janice Gould says, “We’re considered Two-Spirit People. We’re all special because within us we have male and female and that gives us a special way to look at the world. I think it’s important for gay people to look at that tradition of being Two-Spirit because you’re not less than other people but more than other people and have a deeper understanding of the whole picture.” The class will touch on gender, sexual orientation, family of origin and faith.
Understanding all of who we are - gay, straight, lesbian, bi-sexual, two-spirit, transgender, male, female, single, coupled, believer, questioner - is to see our lives as a gift from God. If we see ourselves as a gift, we can find our place in the world. Come discover and/or explore your sacred journey in a safe environment.
